Abstract

Abstract: As the core carrier of the opening-up policy, Free Trade Zones (FTZs) play an important role in the openness of processing trade. This paper uses the provincial panel data from 2004 to 2017 to empirically test the impact of FTZs on the openness of processing trade. The empirical results are as follows: FTZs play a significant role in promoting the openness of the processing trade, characterized by the promotion of the transfer of the processing trade from coastal areas to inland regions, which is reflected in both exports and imports; FTZs significantly enhance the openness of processing trade with supplied and imported materials, which is characterized by the promotion of the transfer of processing trade with supplied and imported materials from coastal areas to inland regions, however, the impact on the transfer of the export processing trade with purchased materials is not significant; the financial crisis significantly strengthens the impact of FTZs on the openness of the processing trade in purchased materials, and the “Belt and Road”initiative significantly weakens the impact of FTZs on the openness of the processing trade, while the financial crisis and the “Belt and Road”initiative significantly strengthen the transfer of the processing trade from coastal areas to inland regions.

摘要： 本文利用2004~2017年省级面板数据,实证检验自由贸易园区对加工贸易开放的影响。实证结果表明,自由贸易园区对加工贸易开放的促进作用显著,也促进加工贸易由沿海向内陆转移,这一现象在出口和进口上均有体现;自由贸易园区对来料加工贸易和进料加工贸易开放的促进作用显著,同时促进来料加工贸易和进料加工贸易由沿海向内陆转移,但对出口进料加工贸易转移的影响不显著;金融危机对自由贸易园区对进料加工贸易开放的促进作用的强化效应显著,“一带一路”倡议弱化自由贸易园区对加工贸易开放的促进作用,金融危机和“一带一路”倡议强化自由贸易园区对加工贸易由沿海向内陆转移进程的促进作用。
