Abstract: Based on the theory of group dynamics and synergy, this paper discusses the synergy effect of group dynamic situation between female directors and corporate social responsibility from the perspective of gender synergy and group coordination by using the data of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies. The results show that the female chairman has a positive synergy effect in the influence of female directors on corporate social responsibility. Female executives have a significant positive impact on corporate social responsibility, but a negative synergy effect in the influence of female directors on corporate social responsibility. It shows that there is a complementary and substitutional relationship between female executives and female directors in their influence on corporate social responsibility. The characteristics of the board of directors have a significant impact on corporate social responsibility, but have no significant synergy effect in the influence of female directors on corporate social responsibility. The study suggests that compared with the demographic characteristics of the decision-making team, such as education background, age, term of office and so on, gender characteristics are more likely to have an effect on the role of female directors in the board decision-making process. It provides empirical evidence for the same sex social reproduction theory and social identity theory based on the gender.
