Research on Influence of Building Civilized Cities on Enterprises' Green Innovation from the Perspective of Environmental Regulation

Abstract

Abstract: This paper explores the impact of the campaign for building national civilized cities on enterprises' green technology innovation. The results demonstrate that the campaign for building national civilized cities significantly promotes enterprises' green technology innovation, but the effect particularly exists in green utility model patents rather than green invention patents. Further research reveals that compared with enterprises in industries with light pollution,enterprises in cities with higher administrative level and state-owned enterprises, the promotion effect is more significant on enterprises in industries with heavy pollution,enterprises in general cities and non-state-owned enterprises. This study provides new empirical evidence for the economic consequences of the campaign for building national civilized cities.

摘要： 本文利用2008—2018年沪深A股上市公司经验数据,考察全国文明城市评选对企业绿色技术创新的影响。研究结果表明,全国文明城市评选显著促进获评城市企业的绿色技术创新,该影响作用主要体现于绿色实用新型专利中,在绿色发明专利方面则不明显;与其他企业相比,全国文明城市评选对企业绿色技术创新的促进作用在重污染行业企业、非国有企业和地处普通城市的企业中更为明显。这一结论有助于从城市文明视角拓展企业绿色技术创新的制度动因,从企业绿色技术创新视角为创建文明城市建设经济后果提供新的经验证据。
