Technology Source, Space Spillover and the Upgrade of Innovative Value Chain:Synergy or Crowding-out

Abstract: Based on the perspective of innovation value chain,this paper divided the innovation process into three stages: knowledge innovation, scientific research innovation and product innovation.According to the logic and mechanism of different technological sources affecting the innovation value chain, variable selection and spatial econometric model construction are conducted to explore the space spillover effect and the “synergy” or “crowding-out” effect of factors in the process of driving R&D elements. The results show that there is a clear spatial dependency relationship among the three stages of innovation. Elements of different technological sources at home and abroad can promote the improvement of innovation value chains within the region(direct effect), and also through space spillover effects promote the upgrade of innovation value chains in adjacent areas (indirect effects). The influence channel of technology introduction shows that human capital mainly absorbs the overflows of R&D brought by technology introduction through internal channels, and R&D capital shows more “synergistic effect”.

摘要: 基于创新价值链的视角,本文将创新过程区分为知识创新、科研创新和产品创新三个阶段,根据不同技术来源影响创新价值链的逻辑和机制进行变量选取及空间计量模型构建,探究研发要素驱动过程中空间溢出效应和要素的“协同”或“挤占”效应。研究结果表明,创新三个阶段之间具有明显的空间依赖关系,国内外不同技术来源要素既促进本地区创新价值链的提升(直接效应),也通过空间溢出效应促进邻近区域创新价值链的提升(间接效应)。影响渠道检验表明,人力资本主要通过内部渠道吸收技术引进带来的研发溢出,而研发资本则更多地表现为“协同效应”。
