数字技术创新、本土市场需求与全球价值链分工地位

Digital Technology Innovation, Local Market Demand and Global Value Chains Division of Labor Position

摘要: 本文利用1995—2018年45个国家17个制造业部门的面板数据,探讨数字技术创新水平对全球价值链分工地位的影响及作用机理,并考察本土市场需求的调节效应。研究发现,数字技术创新水平显著促进全球价值链分工地位升级,在发达国家、劳动密集型行业和上下游生产环节中的促进作用更强,其作用机制为扩大中间品进口、释放国内消费潜力和提高供需匹配水平;本土市场需求扩张显著强化数字技术创新水平对全球价值链分工地位的促进作用,且该效应在发展中国家、资本和技术密集型行业、消费需求中更为明显。拓展性分析表明,数字技术创新水平具有显著的溢出效应,数字技术创新水平差距缩小显著促进全球价值链分工地位升级,“数字鸿沟”的弥合有助于强化数字技术创新水平的价值链分工效应。上述结论对新发展格局构建和经济高质量发展具有重要启示。

Abstract: This paper utilizes data from 17 manufacturing sectors in 45 countries from 1995 to 2018 to explore the impact and mechanism of digital technological innovation on the division of labor in GVCs, and further examines the moderating effect of local market demand. It is found that digital technological innovation can promote the upgrading of the division of labor position in GVCs, and its mechanism is to expand the imports of intermediate goods, release the potential of domestic consumption and improve the matching level of supply and demand; the positive impact of digital technological innovation on the division of labor position in GVCs is more obvious in developed countries, labor-intensive industries, and upstream and downstream production link; the expansion of local market demand can strengthen the promotion of digital technological innovation on the division of labor position in GVCs, and the effect is more obvious in developing countries, capital-and technology-intensive industries, and consumption. Expansion analysis shows that digital technology innovation has significant spillover effects; the shortening of the distance of digital technology innovation can promote the upgrading of the division of labor in GVCs; the bridging of the “digital divide” can help strengthen the value chain division of labor effect of digital technology innovation. The conclusions of this paper have important implications for the construction of a new development pattern and the high-quality development of the economy.
